GAYLE AND MARTY GALBRAITH GENEALOGY
Notes for Cora Anna Jones
I have only one very vague memory of Cora, My Grandmother. One time, when I was two, going on three, something didn't go my way and I had a temper tantrum. I went into the front bedroom and found a tiny button in grandmas sewing basket and shoved it up my nose out of pure spite. Grandma and Mom tried frantically to get it out to no avail. I remember them taking me in our neighbors car to see Dr Johnson. He pushed a small surgical rubber tube up thru my nose and down to my throat in an attempt to push the button out. They never found it. Years later, a doctor said that I had lesions in my nasal passage from that episode. You suffer the consequences of your actions, even as a small child.
I was told that Cora was Postmistress of Thompsonville for a time. She was apparently a very intelligent woman.
In Cora's funeral register, the following are listed as relatives:
Pauline Johnson
Jessie Pasley
Tom Pasley
Fannie Dulaney
Merle Poole
Harold Poole
Mr & Mrs Edgar Poole
Bessie Poole
Hosea Poole
CL Poole
I think Jessie Poole married Tom Pasley after Paulines, father, Gustave Johnson died. Pauline, Jessie and Tom's names are listed consecutively in the register.
