Mr& Mrs Edgar Poole, Merle Poole, and Harold Poole are listed as relatives at Cora Jones Poole's funeral. Who do they belong to? Edgar and Harold must be children of one of Martin's sons. Merle Poole could be of either sex.

On gravestone, "Martin Pool, Co C, 42 ILL INF."
Apparently Martin was a Civil War Vet.

In Otto Poole's obituary, his father is listed as Martin VanBuren Poole who moved to Nashville Ill from Nashville, Tennessee before the Civil War. This is the only documentation of his middle name that I have. It also mentions that four of Martin's children, two boys and two girls, died as infants. That covers all four children that I didnt have birth dates for and probably accounts for 4 small stones in the burial plot with no readable inscriptions.

Martin's death certificate lists his occupation as retired-cooper. It also lists his father and mother as William H Poole and Elizabeth Chambles, both born in Nashville, Tenn.
